Masked Games respects the intellectual property rights of others. Every game on this site is published under licence from its developer or through an authorised distribution partner. If you believe that content on maskedgames.com infringes a copyright you own or represent, you can ask us to remove it using the process below, which follows the notice-and-takedown procedure of the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

Designated Agent

Send all copyright notices to:
Copyright Agent, Masked Games
dmca@maskedgames.com

Please use this address for copyright matters only. Other enquiries sent here may not receive a reply — use the Contact page instead.

How to File a Notice

To be effective, your notice must be in writing and include all of the following:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or a person authorised to act on their behalf.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed. If multiple works are covered by one notice, a representative list of them.
  3. Identification of the material you claim is infringing, with the full URL of each page on maskedgames.com so we can locate it. A game title alone is not enough.
  4. Your contact details: name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and — under penalty of perjury — that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.

What Happens Next

We aim to acknowledge notices within 3 business days. Where a notice is complete and appears valid, we will remove or disable access to the material, usually within 5 business days of acknowledgement, and notify the party that supplied it. Incomplete notices — most commonly those without specific URLs — will be returned to you with an explanation of what is missing.

Counter-Notice

If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address. It must include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal.
  3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, postal address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for the district where you live (or, if outside the United States, any judicial district in which we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the party who filed the original notice.

If we receive a valid counter-notice we may restore the material after 10 business days, unless the original complainant notifies us that they have filed a court action seeking to restrain the activity.

Repeat Infringers

We will refuse to publish content from any provider who is the subject of repeated valid infringement notices, and will terminate any working relationship with that provider.

A Note on Misuse

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), a person who knowingly makes a material misrepresentation that content is infringing — or that it was removed by mistake — may be liable for damages, including costs and legal fees. Please be sure you hold the rights before filing.

Game Developers

If you are a developer and would like your game removed from Masked Games, you do not need to file a formal DMCA notice. Email dmca@maskedgames.com with the game title and the page URL, and we will take it down. If instead you would like us to feature your game, please get in touch through our Contact page.
