Funny Faces is a memory game disguised as a puzzle. You get five seconds to look at a face, and then it comes apart — the features scatter and your job is to put them back exactly where they were. What you are really being tested on is how much of a face you can take in at a glance.

The parts you are working with are more specific than you might expect. Hair, eyes, eyebrows, nose, mouth, glasses and a moustache all have to go back in their correct positions, so remembering roughly what the face looked like is not enough. Five seconds is generous for one feature and very tight for eight, which is where the difficulty comes from.

The faces grow more complex as you progress, adding features and detail until the five seconds genuinely is not long enough to be careful. An interactive tutorial gets you started, and after that the game is a straight test of how quickly you can reconstruct what you just saw.
