How to Play Train

Train is a snake game with passengers. You drive a train around a level collecting people, and each one you pick up is added to the back — so completing a level means gathering everybody, and gathering everybody means driving a train that gets progressively harder to steer.

That is the whole tension and it is a clean one. The reward for doing well is a longer train, and a longer train is more of a hazard to itself. The game tells you plainly to be aware of your tail and avoid the crash, which is a polite way of saying that the last passenger is the one most likely to end your run.

There are a lot of levels and each is a different arrangement of people to collect and space to do it in. Because the failure condition is running into yourself rather than a timer or an enemy, a level you cannot finish is usually one where your route needs reordering rather than one you need to drive faster.
